my first peek

Posted on September 30, 2008

from Saturday’s portrait day.  The weather was awesome, all the families so sweet and happy to be outside with their loved ones.  This lucky family is at Disney this week for the first time.  I can only imagine the fun they are having.  I hope to post more favorites in the coming days.

My sweet bean

Posted on September 30, 2008

I call my oldest daughter Sawyer “bean” all the time.  The other day when I was volunteering in her classroom at school I called her “bean” and the kids are all “who is bean”  Very sweet.  Tonight I put the girls to bed and she came out of her room and was just standing by me as I was editing pictures.  I asked her to go back to bed and she said “Can’t I just stay and watch you do your pictures mom?”  I thought that was so sweet that she just wanted to watch me.  She commented on all the images and was guessing the ages of all the kids.  It was really very sweet.  Then she said something I will never forget.  My sweet daughter said “Mom these kids are really lucky to have you to take their pictures”  I stopped what I was doing and turned to her and asked “Why do you say that?”  She replied “Because you are so special”  Melt my heart!  Well bean I am really lucky to have you in my life because you are so very special to me–mom.

This image is from my step sister’s wedding this past weekend.  I love that you can see her newest missing front tooth.

a quick update

Posted on September 28, 2008

Thank you to everyone that has emailed and has called about my mini session in October.  All spots are filled and I currently have a waiting list.  I appreciate all the interest.

What a nice weekend we had.  My YMCA sessions Saturday were a blast and the weather was awesome!  I am behind on my blog and hope to get some more sneak peeks up this week so check back.   Here are a few more images from recent sessions.  I just love the first family one with the kids holding hands.  They did that all on their own–so sweet and one of my favorites.

A quick peek

Posted on September 25, 2008

I got a chance today to look at a few images from last week and wanted to post some of this sweet little guy.  I first met him last year when he was just a few weeks old.  It is so fun for me to watch children grow and make connections with families.  I had the best time chatting and catching up with this family and have some of big sister to post later.  I’ll be in touch soon.

hello

Posted on September 22, 2008

wheww it has been busy and sorry for ignoring my blog lately.  I was gone this past weekend at a workshop and have a crazy fall schedule.  So that said my blog is going to suffer for the next few weeks, but I will try to post as much as I can. Before I left last week I got a chance to use my new chair again and Tatum’s fun jacket.  Thanks so much for a fun afternoon.

I love this last one so much because Miss Molly said she did not like this hat, but mom did and she did not want to wear it.  I think that is so funny.  I told her to give me some attitude and she looks so cute!

i love my girls because……….

Posted on September 14, 2008

they get excited about green finger nail polish, every time I look at them I see a little piece of me, they are truely blessings, when they are three they say cute things like “mom she blessed youd on me”, they get excited about mom’s new furniture finds, their smile’s light up a room, and because they are sweet, simple, and kind.

I was so bummed about the rain this weekend.  I had so many great ideas for all my sessions.  We grilled out in the garage this afternoon and I had an idea.  Lets try my new chair!  So I moved it to the very edge of the garage and my girls took turns posing for me in it.  I stood out in the rain and ran in between shots.  I had so much fun!  My girls were so nice to humor me.  I absolutely LOVE all of the shots (maybe it is my mommy glasses) and I want you all to remember these were taken in my garage!  So if you think there is no where to take good pictures at your house think of my dirty messy garage!

rainy day

Posted on September 10, 2008

Well of course on Monday morning the weather guys were wrong the rain did not hold off until afternoon, but that did not put a damper on my session with this adorable family.  Miss Gwen was hard for me to crack, but mom managed to get a smile or two from her.  Gabe was all boy and loved his football.  I had a great time playing with him on the porch.  What cute kids!  Enjoy the sneak peek.

1st day of school

Posted on September 10, 2008

Here are a few pictures from the first day of school.  They were all excited to go and Kenadie really wanted to get on the bus too, but she will have to wait until next year.  I was so proud of them that day.  Sawyer and Tatum held hands and crossed the street onto the bus.  I of course was all teared up and did not have my camera on me, but it was so cute.  Tatum gets so excited to get dressed every morning for school.  I think that is her favorite part–getting to wear her new school clothes!  They grow up so fast!  I can already say I wish time would stand still for a little while.  I miss them.

cute kids ahead

Posted on September 8, 2008

I have been so excited to look at these images I could hardly wait.  So tonight I peeked at a few and have to post my first glance favorites.  Olivia was kind enough to humor me with some hats I brought with me.  I just love hats.  When my girls were little I always had fun hats for them and still do today.  I guess instead of a shoe obsession I have a hat obesssion.  Julie you are going to love all of these and will have a hard time deciding between them.  I’ll be in touch soon!

morning at the course

Posted on September 7, 2008

Yesterday morning I met up with an adorable family I have had the pleasure of photographing a few times in the past year.  Mom and dad thought we should meet at The Legends in Wales since the kids are familiar with the area and what a beautiful golf course.  The boys had fun giggling at their sister, climbing rocks, and trees.  Miss Claire had fun running away from me and eating gold fish crackers.  I cannot decide if I like color or black and white better for this first image.  Claire is just so d.a.r.n cute and the boys are pretty handsome too!  Thank you for a fun morning.
