Today I was a very lucky photographer. I photographed a sweet new baby girl along with her big sister and mom. Big sister Kennedy (love the name) was full of hugs for me and very proud of her little sister. Mom was so nice to give me full photographic freedom and I wanted to share one of my favorite images so far. I have just uploaded the session to my computer and this one caught my eye.

It is fun to be one!

I love to photograph one year olds. They are so fun! Most are walking and they are full of expression and personality. Is she not the cutest! And don’t forget big sister.
Hope you all have a great weekend. I hear we may have a little bit of a heat wave! I am photographing four newborns this week (one set of twins) so I will have lots of sweet cuddly newborn images soon to share.

Grand Opening Event

I am so excited for my Grand Opening event and Matilda Jane trunk show. I just cannot keep it secret anymore (plus a few of you have really good eyes and have already emailed me about it)! It is going to be a fun night! Matilda Jane clothes are so beautiful and the new spring line is being unveiled soon just in time for Easter outfits! If you visit the Matilda Jane site now you will find only a few pieces from the Fall line still available at 60% off. All the clothes on my girls are from the Fall line. They are just as adorable in person as in pictures. You will not be able to purchase the new Spring line on line so mark your calendars for March 12th. What a fun way to see some beautiful clothes and check out my new studio. Who knows I might even be giving away a few things! So please tell all your friends and get ready for some fabulous clothes, fun conversation, and a night out. All my current clients will be getting personal invitations. march 12th sneak peek

I have missed this place and am anxious to give you all a sneak peek as to what is coming March 12th! Today I had a little mini session with my girls at a friend’s studio. Thank you Amy for letting me use your studio while I wait for mine to be finished. The girls are dressed in these amazingly unique and fun clothes that I am in love with! More details to follow I promise. For now a few images of my girls showing off for the camera.
I am patiently waiting for a few newborns to be born and one set of twins. So more adorable and sweet little ones to come shortly. While I am waiting I am busy getting ready for 2009 and spending some down time with my family. Next month I am traveling to Las Vegas for the WPPI convention and am really looking forward to all the seminars and tradeshow. I am so excited to learn and be inspired.

Hey Ladies

Mark your calendars for Thursday March 12th for a very special event. I cannot give out any more details at this time (mean I know), but it will be a fun and exciting night. I will have some more news regarding my new design studio the first week of February too so stay tuned. Lots of new and exciting things happening at Kelly Smith Photography this year. Okay maybe I’ll give you a hint in the next few days or so. I am busting at the seams.
Hope you all stay warm the next couple of days. No school tomorrow! The girls were giddy tonight when they got the news. We are planing a day of baking and crafting.

commercial shoot

Back in November I was contacted by a wonderful Art Director, Clara, to photograph a family for a publication she was working on. So I traveld to Illinios and met a wonderful client and family. It was really fun to see another side of the photography world (I wish I could have hair and makeup everyday!) I look forward to some more fun commerical shoots.

Okay so maybe I am addicted to blogging and cannot help myself when it comes to posting sneak peeks just days after sessions, but oh well!! I know Saylor’s mom is a faithful blog reader and is checking to see a sneak peek and I just cannot withhold this image any longer! I have been photographing Saylor since she was in mom’s tummy and she is now almost 1 and as sweet as can be. I got many hugs during this photography session and trust me I just eat that up. Thank you so much for allowing me to capture your beautiful daughter. I promise to share a few more from this session in the next few days. Trust me there are many many more beautiful images.
