Milwaukee High School Senior Photographer

I had so much fun during this photography session. The session was a “field trip” sort of session and it was awesome. We first started at Lake Michigan and then drove to the Third Ward. Oh and in between we stopped at a tree lined street and shot. I love it when portrait sessions are relaxed, spontaneous and so much fun like this. This was my first time shooting in the Third Ward. I could have stayed there all day. So many possibilities. And it totally helps when my client is so drop dead gorgeous like Kelly is. Thank you so much for a fun afternoon Trisha and Kelly. All your portraits are stunning.

I had the opportunity to meet this sweet family at their lake home for some family portraits. It was a fun morning and what a beautiful property they have with a great lake view. I really love all their family portraits. I can still here all the giggles. Thank you Tami and Tom for sharing your family with me. I am very excited for your ordering session.

Meet sweet Ana and her big brother and sister. They are so sweet and in love with their new baby sister. I really enjoyed this newborn session before I left for vacation. This family is just wonderful. I could have hung out with them all day. So calm and appreciative. Big brother and sister were so well behaved and hung out at the studio while Ana had her portraits taken. I love all these portraits and am sharing mostly family images today all in black and white. I meet with mom tomorrow to go over her order and am so excited to see which ones are her favorites!

I’m back….and a few wedding pictures
Posted on June 1, 2010
We are home and I am in the trying to catch up on emails and voice mail messages. Jamaica was wonderful. We had so much fun and the wedding was perfect. Sharing two quick favorites from the big day of my little brother and his beautiful wife!
Note: I am not a wedding photographer and have no intention of shooting weddings. Just a special gift for my brother and sister in law.
Happy Tuesday!

Fine Art Canvas Portraits
Posted on May 21, 2010
I absolutely love canvas portraits and that is probably why I have so many at the studio and in my own home! So when clients order canvases for their homes I get super excited as if they were going up in my own home. The anticipation as I am opening the package is like no other. I am giddy the entire time and then in awe when the canvas is unwrapped. Canvases are truly treasures that will last your family a life time. Today I had to share this image of sweet Juliana and her mom and dad. These are stunning!! The 16×20 looks small next to the 24×30. Any questions about a fine art canvas please ask anytime. I promise you will fall in love with them!

Picking a photographer
Posted on May 18, 2010
It can be really hard to chose a portrait photographer that is right for you and your family, especially today when there are so many to choose from. So I wanted to re post my behind the scenes video from last winter. I think it is really important that you know what you are getting when you hire me, Kelly Smith, to capture these priceless once in a life time images of you and your family. I am silly, patient, full of really weird noises (which you cannot hear in the video thankfully!) and 100% tuned into your child. I like to play with your children and never rush a session. You can think of me as a babysitter for the session. Really I mean it. I like to play and be silly with them–it is then when I get the show stopping images.
I would be honored to be your photographer.

I was so excited to see this sweet family again. I had the privilege of photographing baby Jason when he was still in his mom’s tummy and again as a newborn. Check out how adorable he is now at 6 months. That curly hair and sweet smile will melt anyone’s heart. I was so excited to get some amazing portraits with mom and dad. You can tell how much he loves them and how much they love him. Kamilah and Jason these are going to make great wall galleries for you–especially for the six months you are traveling.

Menomonee Falls Children’s photography
Posted on April 4, 2010
I am very behind on my sneak peeks so will try to make it up with many favorites from this on location session in Menomonee Falls. I had so much fun being on location. I love how unique portrait session can be in a families own home. This little guy was so happy and a joy to photograph. Mom loves black and white images and I promise Leah to show you many, but I just had to post the color this time–especially with his amazing blue eyes. I have some of big brother too, but that will have to wait until another day. The first image in my favorite–I think (I have many from this session) I know most parents really want full smile portraits, but I often gravitate to more serious images. Don’t worry there are many smiles and laughs documented in his gallery, but I am just so drawn to the first image.
Hope everyone had a Happy Easter!

A little ray of sunshine….oconomowoc children’s photographer

Miss Rylee was so sweet and smiley when she came into the studio. She just smiled the entire time and had the most gorgeous big eyes and most beautiful long eyelashes. I had so much fun with her and her mom. We talked about raising three girls and how blessed we both feel to have them. When I was editing these images I just could not stop from smiling and thinking about spring and sunshine. Hope these put as big of a smile on your face as they do mine!
Happy Thursday!
