I love photographing newborns–their newness is just awesome! Well sweet baby Diya was no exception. She was so adorable, sweet and had the most amazing black hair! Mom and dad were willing to try anything and such great sports. Sweet Diya is one lucky little girl. Thank you for sharing her with me.

I am so excited to share these newborn portraits with a family that I have been photographing since I started my business. I always look forward to the girl’s session every year and now I will look forward to seeing the girls and boy!! Congratulations Sarah and Brian and thank you for continuing to share your family with me. Sarah I know how bad you wanted a canvas of all three kids–you will have a hard time picking which portrait to use for it.

Sweet baby James came into my studio last week for his newborn portraits and was a dream. I just love newborn photography. Each one is so different yet equally sweet, fresh and new. Sweet Anniston and her mommy came into the studio last week for her newborn portraits. This little peanut soaked her mom a few times and was a little more interested in eating than sleeping, but we still got some amazing portraits! When mom called to let me know she had arrived and I always ask “What is her/his name and she said Anniston I instantly LOVED her name. My first Anniston. If we were having more children (which we are NOT) that would definitely make my short list!

I love maternity sessions because I love to capture the excitement in expecting parents eyes. I love to capture sweet round bellies, glowing faces and the connection between husband and wife. I do have to confess I do love maternity sessions because I know in a few short weeks I get to photography a beautiful newborn baby as well!! Katy just looks fabulous in these images. She is definitely glowing. And their first baby just had to get in a few photographs too. Thank you for a fun session Katy. I will be in touch soon.

I have been so busy with newborns lately and was going through galleries and had a few more favorites that I just had to share. I feel so lucky to be able to capture this time in a new families life. There is nothing sweeter than a newborn baby. All the excitement, sleeplessness, joy, fear ect that new parents feel. I remember all of that and am sad about how fast time has gone by wishing I had images of my girls like these.
Hope everyone had a great weekend. Tatum goes back to school tomorrow for the first time since her tonsil and adenoid surgery. I hope it is a great day for her. I am a little worried. She if feeling great, but very sad tonight about going back to school. Hmm.. That is not like her. Wish me luck tomorrow!

Wow it has been a huge baby boom at Kelly Smith Photography lately and I love every minute of it!! This sweet family came to the studio from Illinois just days after sweet baby Juliana was born. She was the perfect baby–sweet, happy and slept like a champ. Mom and dad were equally sweet and willing to try anything. Annie looks simply amazing just days after having a Miss Juliana. Sweet Miss Finnley, her big brother, mom, aunt and mom’s friend came into the studio last week for her portrait session. She was super sleepy and a complete dream to photograph. Big brother was SUPER good–the best big brother I have had at the studio!!! I had so much fun during this session and really love each and every image. Finnley has the most gorgeous eye lashes I have ever seen on a newborn!
I had many awesome sessions this week at the studio that I cannot wait to share with you all!!!
