I had a great time yesterday at one of my client’s Matilda Jane trunk shows. I was there to take pictures of any girl that wanted to be entered into the Matilda Jane photo contest. I tell you girls just light up when they put pretty clothes on. It was really fun and the weather was awesome. Here are just a few pictures from yesterday.
I finally got to use my new headband. I love it, but not sure how to get it on–ha!
Oh and yes I do have three daughters, but my middle has decided not to be in any pictures anymore. Fast forward 15 years and I can hear her asking me “Mom why don’t you have any pictures of me?” Oh well. I’ll have to sneak some.

Matilda Jane Trunk Show and Studio updates

Wow this Spring has been busy busy busy for us. Time is really flying by and I cannot believe school is out in one month. I am definitely ready for summer weather and some R & R. I have been working very hard with a designer on a new logo and marketing materials for the studio. Today I am showing a little peek at my new logo. I just love it and cannot wait for everything to come together. A new website is in the works too!! It has been very busy with portrait sessions and behind the scenes “stuff” at Kelly Smith Photography. Some of you have seen the new waiting area, new furniture and new big screen TV (soon to be used for in person proofing), fabric wall and chalk board. I am in love with it all and so happy with how everything has turned out.
I also wanted to invite everyone to a Matilda Jane Trunk show at one of my clients house this weekend Sunday May 16th from 3:00 until 5:00. I will be there taking pictures of little girls in Matilda Jane clothes that want to be entered into the MJ contest. Check out the blog for the details. And just a few pictures of my Sawyer modeling some hats for Lisa over at Etsy. Lida is so sweet and wonderful to work with. Check out her site. I spotted this old rusted out truck at the car dealership next door and got their permission to shoot there. I am secretly hoping it stay there all summer. Crossing my fingers big time.

Matilda Jane Trunk Show September 11th 6:30-8:00

I am excited to invite you all to my studio on September 11th from 6:30 until 8:00 for a Matilda Jane Trunk Show at my studio in Oconomowoc. If you are not familiar with these clothes please click on the link and check them out. They are super cute and fun. My girls love wearing them and just sparkle a little when they have them on. I had the opportunity to photograph Miss Lola in Brookfield a little while back. She has the largest Matilda Jane warbdorb I have ever seen! She was so fun to photograph. I had to bribe her with piggy back rides so I definitely got my workout that day, but it was well worth it. I just love all her smiles in these images. A true reflection of who she is. A sweet silly happy three year old little girl.
This weekend was a busy one. I had three amazing photograhy sessions today. Yep I said three. Something I have never done before, but we had to squeeze in a session for an important campaign while all his children were in town. I have some wonderful maternity, baby and family images to post very soon. Hope you all enjoy the last week of summer vacation. School starts September 1st for us! Have a wonderful week.

My baby is turning four

I took the girls out for a little photo shoot the other day and especially wanted to capture Kenadie because she turns four next week. I have been eyeing up this private property for awhile and knocked on the door and asked to use it and the sweetest older lady answered the door and said “oh dear you have fun” She was so nice! When we got out there I was not prepared for all the mosquitoes and we got eaten alive! I will venture back and try some other locations on the property, but for now I am going to share a few of my sweet baby (or big girl as she would like to be called!) Four years has gone by so fast. As I sit here typing this I have goose bumps and tears in my eyes–I want to keep her this little forever. Love you Addie Patti!

Matilda Jane Shoot

I just love these clothes. I had the chance this week to photograph Pearl in her new clothes and we had a great time. These colors just pop at the studio! Little girls feel so great in them too. Look at how much fun we were having! Her auntie Dana makes these great bags TreasureBags and Pearl was quite the model with them. I think she has found her calling mom!
Hope you are all having a great week. Spring Break is coming to an end for us. Thankfully the weather has been awesome and we have been having fun getting outside again.

Easter Matilda Jane style

On Easter Sunday we had breakfast at our house with my husband’s parents and then quickly ran down to my studio for a mini Easter shoot with the girls and their new Matilda Jane clothes. Needless to say we were a little late for lunch at my parent’s house because I was not paying attention to the clock–opps–sorry mom. Just wanted to share a few images of my girls on Easter at the studio.

Matilda Jane Photo Shoot

The weather the last few days has been awesome. I even got a chance to run outside today. It felt great to feel the sun on my face finally. Spring is around the corner!!
Today I headed outside for a little mini shoot with Carrie and her daughter Gabby. Gabby was not very interested in having her picture taken, but I managed to get a few. See Carrie is my Matilda Jane trunk keeper who will be at my studio next week (can you believe it is next week-yippee) for my Grand Opening Event. She was so sweet to come over with a few pieces from the new spring line for a little sneak peek. The clothes are amazing. I cannot wait to see them all and share them with all of you. I already have a few outfits picked out for the girls. I promise you will all LOVE them.
So please come on down to the studio March 12th from 5:00 until 8:00 to check out these fun and unique clothes and bring a friend. Also come and check out my new natural light studio. I am giving away a free studio session and anyone who purchases clothes that night(well probably anyone who attends because I am just so excited for this event) is getting a special offer on a studio session fee! Now for a sneak peek on a few of the outfits. The girls had a blast in the clothes and I was lucky to find a few new places to photograph! It felt so good to get outside again and photograph. I am looking so forward to warmer weather and shooting outside more!
