These sweet little girls and their mom and dad came into the studio last week for some portraits of them as a family of 4 before they become a family of 5. I had so much fun with them all. Dad had me laughing the entire time…so fun! Hope everyone is having a great week.

I was so excited to see Mr. Crue again. Last time I saw him he was a teeny tiny newborn and look at him now…so cute and looks just like his big sister. And I think he is going to have red hair :) Thank you Sarah for sharing your little man with me.

Mr. Gavin was all boy for his one year old portraits. We met at his house and played in the back yard. He was definitely more interested in rocks and sticks than me–I totally get it Gavin :)! I really love all his portraits because they capture a typically one year old exploring all around the yard and his eyes just sparkle in every single one.

Just a few quick amazing images from this fun session at the studio last week. January has been so busy with many outstanding portrait sessions that my poor blog is once again falling behind. Oh I love being on locations again in this warm weather–I think summer is here! Miss Abby’s session was so much fun. We were outside the entire time and even got down to the lake. This little girl definitely has lots of family that loves her. And check out her Matilda Jane outfits–to die for! Erin thank you for going along with all my ideas and just going with the flow. It was a fun and relaxed morning. Your daughter is just beautiful and so laid back.

Urban look

Here are some recent images I took at a workshop I attended this month. We focused on a more urban look and some studio lighting techniques. I had a great time and learned a ton. I love the urban photography and it was really great to learn studio lighting. If you are interested in an urban session please be sure to let me know when you book your appointment. I am looking forward to some of these sessions especially with high school seniors. Layered fun clothes work best for these sessions. Don’t be afraid to just have fun with it. I am thinking about offering studio light sessions this fall for all my clients. It will definitely give some variety to sessions. Let me know what you think!
